- Here is the list of changes that I am planning for REC 1.20 and 2.00:
-
-
-
- Version 1.20 - Adding of bells, whistles, and horns
-
- - Forward requests can be scanned against a list of echos available
- from the Echo Hub. If the echo desired is not found, the request
- will be refused, otherwise it will be forwarded. The list can be
- import from any ASCII format including an AREAS.BBS file. A extra
- utility will be provided to "compile" the listing into a fast load-
- ing and processing file.
-
- - The AreaFix subject line options will be supported as well as REC's
- own set of report generating commands.
-
- - The configuration file will be processed only when it has been
- changed, instead everytime REC is run. The "compiled" configuration
- data will saved in a special file designed for fast loading. It
- can be recompiled anytime (even if not changed) by using the command
- line parm of "/C".
-
- - The batch and message commands will be changed from static memory
- storage to dynamic memory. This will make the RAM requirements less
- and remove the limits on the number of commands in either the batch
- file or net-mail messages. Other internal items will be made dynamic
- to increase the speed and decrease load module size and the RAM
- requirments.
-
- - More than one name can be setup for REC to answer to. You can have
- REC setup to answer to as many names as you want, such as "Remote
- Control", "REC", "Areafix", "Hey, dummy", or whatever you desire.
- The default will still be "Remote Control".
-
- - The Create batch command will be modified to allow you to add down-
- links at the same time you create the echo.
-
-
-
- Version 2.00 - On-line version for direct editing
-
- - The main purpose of this release will be an on-line remote and local
- program that will allow you to directly edit your echo control file
- while logged on to your BBS. You can excecute any of the batch
- commands that you want, as well as simulating a net-mail request from
- any of your echo nodes. This will be a major undertaking, so that is
- why I am sending out 1.20 first.
